I believe that Faustus is just getting ready to start his black magic. It kind of shows how he still thinks he his bigger than everything and how prideful he is. But it makes me wonder will reglion play a roll in this at all? we will see.
Well as it usually goes with plays and stories about people who are too prideful; they usually think that they are above God and denounce him. Which in turn, leads to them being doomed by "fate". But I am starting to think that religion will have a big role in the play not because it has to be, but because it adds to the fire that only God should have the power to raise the dead. Nobody should have his power through magic. If you look at frankenstein by mary shelly, religion did not HAVE to play a role in the story so it didn't. It also had to do with being able to create life.
